The Civil Service Winter Pairs competition is held over
a 5 month period from November to March inclusive. The competition consists
of two rounds, namely the Portsmouth and the Frostbite rounds. Competitors
are further divided depending on the bow type used, i.e., recurve, compound
or longbow.
Thus, there are 6 Leagues as follows:
- League 1 - Portsmouth Recurve
- League 2 - Portsmouth Compound
- League 3 - Frostbite Recurve
- League 4 - Frostbite Compound
- League 5 - Portsmouth Longbow
- League 6 - Frostbite Longbow
An archer may enter more than one League, but may only
enter each League once.
Within each League there are Divisions each consisting
of 6 pairs. The number of Divisions will depend on the number of pairs
entered for that League.
Each archery may shoot their chosen rounds as many times
during that month as desired. The highest score attained is then be
submitted to the Organiser during the first week of the succeeding
month. Any score not received within reasonable time will be considered
as a
'No Score'. Scores for the months December to March may be submitted
using e-mail or the on-line form.
If an archer is unable to to record a score, then the
result sheet should be returned indicating a nil score for that archer.
The second archer in the pair may still record a score for individual
awards or to be awarded points aganst a 'BYE'.
NB - Any scores not received in reasonable
time will be considered as a nil result.
Over the 5 months, each pair will compete once with each
of the other 5 pairs. The order in which this will be carried out is as
follows:
